Minderest
Redesigning a B2B data export flow with a 30% completion rate. A one-week technical test, passed.
Technical test · B2B SaaS · One week · December 2025
Goal
Redesign Minderest's data export flow. The target: from 30% to 90% of exports completed within three months.
Problem
Only 30% of exports were completed. I had no access to real data, so I mapped the likely causes and how to test them: a long, unstructured list of fields at the configuration step, users rebuilding the same export every week, generic error messages with no way to recover, and slow exports on very large catalogues.
Result
A recurring export goes from a full setup to a few clicks: pick a template or your last used settings, and export. Success is measured by completion rate, tracked daily against the 90% target. The design passed Minderest's technical test.
What I designed
Three approaches compared in a decision matrix: manual export, template-first and a hybrid. The hybrid won because it serves both Category Managers and Pricing Analysts.
Progressive disclosure: templates, last used settings and custom fields sit in collapsible sections, so the default view stays simple.
Inline progress and a clear "file ready" state, so users know the export is running and what to do next.
A post-launch plan: completion rate tracked daily, with decision thresholds (above 85%, minor iterations; below 75%, rethink the solution).
